Hey! Hi and Hello ladies. Please don’t get confused by the beautiful metaphor placed before us. If you have taken time to read the entire passage, as you know I urge you all to do, then you will understand the bleak message Job has for us believers. Now, you may be thinking “Why has she taken us to such a dreary part of scripture?” Because the fact that you live and breathe means there is hope for you yet. Job stresses the fact that our days are numbered. That God has determined them so, and once you have passed on there is nothing more for you than to come face to face with the one who created you. Job points out that at least there is hope for a tree. Its roots grow old in the ground… yet at the scent of water it will bud and put forth shoots like a plant. This is not the same for us. He breathes his last and is no more. The best part of it all, you’re not dead, so there is still work to do and time to do it. If nothing else, this passage should awaken your spirit and hasten your desire to work as unto the Lord while you have time left on this earth. It is not too late! You may be older and haven’t worked in your purpose much. You might even be unsure of what your purpose is. I urge you to stay consistent. Stay in God’s word so that you may learn your purpose.
