Share Generously
1 Timothy 6:18,19 That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate; Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold of eternal life.
Originally, this passage was meant to caution those who are rich in monetary value. Timothy is asking them to search themselves, to search their hearts and find where their true treasure lies. In the previous verse he implores them to not trust in the uncertain riches of this world which tend to be fleeting, but to trust in God who gives us richly all things to enjoy. Our gifts and talents are some of those rich things given to us by God to find joy in. Timothy then goes on to tell us that we need to be rich in good works, ready to share them, and willing to maintain communion and fellowship with others.
I think that honoring God with your gifts and talents is a form of praise and worship, and one way to show that honor to God is to be generous. In this passage we are asked to be generous with good works. Using your gifts and talents for the advancement of the kingdom of God is doing good works ladies. That's why I'm pushing, urging, and encouraging you to put your seeds in the earth, and watch your purpose show up. As you work, you will discover the people group you are drawn to in order to share your good works so generously. You will become even more of a giver. You will become a lender and not a borrower.
I'm telling you, just start sis. Don't be afraid. Throw off the fear. Throw off the complacency. Throw off the procrastination. They are preventing you from sharing generously what God has so richly blessed you with. I'm praying that God would bring back to your memory all that He has put in you to bless His name with those good works.
Sharing is a P.R.E.T.T.Y lil thing. Be generous.
