and let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.
Hey! Hi and hello P.R.E.T.T.Y crew. Now, we all look forward to the sunshine and fun that summer promises. Oftentimes, we get so caught up in the comings and goings that summer offers that we are enticed to put purpose on the shelf to let it all hang loose. Galatians 6:9 encourages us to not grow weary of doing good, because in due season we will reap if we do not give up.
Let's break it down like this... Do not gradually or increasingly grow weary of fulfilling the duty God has called each of us to, especially as it pertains to our faith. We are to stay diligent in living for Christ. We are to stay diligent in our work for Christ. We are to remain dutiful to upholding our brothers and sisters in the faith. We are to sow into our fields, into other believers, into the lives of those we do not know, for in time there will be a great harvest to reap.
Letting it all hang out can cause tiredness and exhaustion in keeping the faith and upholding the Lord’s statutes. If continuously cultivated, hanging out all the time can cause us to put purpose down for more than a season. And if you do get off track, Paul tells us to help carry each other’s burdens, deal tenderly with them, and help them get back on course.
Let's not grow in the mindset of putting things off until later. Let's not grow in the mindset of its summer and I should relax. Remember, the first of the year is for relaxing and replenishing. Although summer is a great time to have fun and vacation, it is not a time for lackadaisical attention to purpose. Stay focused. Continue to sow the seed God has given you. Continue to stay the course, till your land, and do not become weary of doing good to others.
Keep the P.R.E.T.T.Y going for the time of reaping is just around the corner.
P.R.E.T.T.Y intentions ladies, pretty intentions all summer long.
