Obey to Sustain

2 Cor 9:13

Because of the service by which you have proved yourself others will praise God for the obedience that accompanies your confession of the gospel of Christ for your generosity in sharing with them and with everyone else

Do you want to be a blessing to somebody? Be obedient and give. The more obedient we are to God, the more it will cause us to be generous to others. As we stated last week, giving charity is a command given to us by God, whether that be in food, clothes, monetary gain, or even lending your physical body to help out a friend. Obedience equals generosity and being obedient to the commands of God is proof of our subjection and submission to the gospel of Christ. God set it up like this so that His people would be blessed and in turn bless others, and so He alone can receive the glory. Blessed people bless people.

Your obedience to the gospel accompanies your confession of the gospel. Our generosity shows up in the way of sharing this gospel. What a gift it is and a blessing to others to be able to hear, lean upon and fall into subjection to the wonderful and great commission. He has given us such an opportunity to obey and share organically by giving us numerous gifts and talents. We have to start and continue to operate in these gifts and talents so we can confess, obey and share Him more boldly and freely. Our obedience to His call and sharing what He has commanded of us is how we will sustain the harvest.

Sis, you already know what it's going to take to get it done. I will not claim that just because you have discovered your purpose that it's going to be easy from here on out. No, sis, discovering and walking in your purpose is nothing less than denying oneself, bearing your cross and following Him. In doing so, your needs will be met accordingly and abundantly. So, I encourage you to pick up your cross and walk this thang out with blood, sweat and tears. There's equity in it for you and for me. He has the ability to sustain, and he wants to do it through our obedience, confession and generosity. Stay P.R.E.T.T.Y while carrying your cross.
