Gather & Encourage
1 Corinthians 1:10
Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and name.
The Bible calls this a gathering. The world calls it networking. Either way, the goal is to gather together with people who believe like you do. People who believe on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. You're connecting with them on things such as your purpose, the direction that you are going in, and your talents and gifts. You are exchanging information to develop spiritual, social, and professional connections with them through the avenue of praying for and encouraging one another.
Paul wanted to make clear the importance of being of one mind and one body when we come together to discuss and pray about the concerns of Christ and His church. Let’s not just do networking like the world does. Let’s gather like the saints of old. On one accord, with specific purpose and intention. We should be praying and agreeing, encouraging and uplifting one another in the faith. We want to be connecting and networking with people who are moving forward. People who are like-minded in the fact that they want to also fulfill their God-given purpose here in the earth, to glorify him and to advance his kingdom.
The first thing we want to do is gather and pray. The second thing we want to do is agree, making sure there is no division among us. Paul makes it clear that there is no division within the trinity. With this information being fact, he leaves no room for believers to even begin to think that major disagreements within the church are acceptable. The third thing we're going to do in this networking process is encourage one another to continue in the way of our Lord. Once we have found our purpose, direction, and agreement, we need to be sure that we are staying faithful in our prayer, faithful in our walk, and faithful to His cause.
So, my question to you is, what are you waiting for? When are you going to locate the people that are like-minded to the things of Christ? Seek out people that are saved and connected to the Lord. Be sure they are being led by the Holy Spirit and that they want to move forward with Christ’s purpose. Once you have found your people, go ahead and sit at the table so that you talk about the things that need to happen as it pertains to God’s plan for His kingdom and God’s plan for your life.
Networking God's way is simply P.R.E.T.T.Y
